Girlfriend in a coma

High school senior Karen Ann McNeil has lapsed into a coma. While her boyfriend, Richard, and their circle of friends make their way in the world, Karen remains comatose for nearly twenty years. She wakes up to find them living in an emotional purgatory and a different world. Some strong language and some descriptions of sex.
